The 10th lunar day holds a special place within the lunar cycle, as it revolves around the concept of family. It’s a day dedicated to strengthening familial bonds, merging different branches of the family, respecting traditions, and creating new ones. It’s a day for drawing power from the family’s wellspring, fostering unity, sharing experiences and knowledge, and laying a firm foundation. Symbolically, the 10th lunar day is represented by the Fountain, with its associated element being Water. On this day, the family’s reservoir of strength and vitality flows freely, showering all our endeavors with life-giving moisture.

The 10th lunar day: A day for family unity

All practices on the 10th lunar day should involve family members or the person with whom you plan to start a family. Initiate a family gathering and share a communal meal with as many relatives as possible.

As you sit around the table, join hands to form a circle. The eldest family member leads the practice. They grasp the left hand of the next generation with their right hand and say, “During my life, I have realized <…that the power of thought is working…>. I have learned to <…enjoy small things…>, and I have accumulated a wealth of <…knowledge on how to build your own business…>, all of which I pass on to you.” As you do this, visualize the light of knowledge and experience flowing from hand to hand. Subsequently, all other family members repeat the process. Finally, the youngest member connects the circle by taking the left hand of the eldest member with their right hand, concluding with the words, “I am grateful to my family and will amplify its strength.”

Meditation for the day

Assume a lotus position, close your eyes, and relax your body. Visualize yourself standing in the center of a lifeless, gray desert, with a fountain in front of you. As it springs to life, crystal-clear water cascades onto the barren ground. Become one with this fountain. Feel the water rushing through you under pressure, surging outwards. This water represents your family’s strength, the wisdom of your ancestors, mentors, and teachers. You are a conduit for this power.

Witness how everything around you gradually comes to life. Blades of grass push through the soil, bushes and trees flourish, and the sun rises. Nourished by the fountain’s splashes, the flora blooms and bears fruit. The land teems with animals, insects, birds, and golden fish swim in the fountain. Through the wisdom of your forebears, you breathe life into a multitude of beings – your projects, dreams, and ideas. Children approach you and dance beneath the water’s streams, exuding joy and cheerfulness because of you. Every moment, you make the world a more beautiful place.
